Manny’s Serves Up Latkes for Hanukkah: MyFoxCHICAGO.com
From FOX Chicago News:
“Chicago – Hanukkah begins at sundown on Tuesday, and for many Chicagoans it is a time to celebrate family and faith. Of course, food is a very important part of it too. Manny’s Cafeteria and Delicatessen has been serving potato pancakes, known as latkes, to Chicagoans for 70 years.
Latkes are traditionally eaten on Hanukkah because they are cooked in oil, which represents the oil that lasted eight nights during the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem, the miracle Hanukkah commemorates.
Manny’s showed us how to make the delicious treat.”
